I really lucked out booking Stephany & Aaron’s wedding this past summer. Stephany approached me 3 months before the wedding and I am so glad I had an opening for her wedding day, because they were truly a very special couple to work with! I started out with getting ready photos at Stephany & Aaron’s apartment and I was blown away by their apartments eclectic decor. It seriously was my dream apartment, because it very much felt like my own place and I immediately knew we were all on the same wavelength and the day was going to be an awesome one! It also was a great backdrop for the detail shots.
From there we hurried over to St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church for the ceremony. Yet again I got to photograph a beautiful ceremony in an exsquisite church. Chicago never fails me there! So many beautiful churches!
After the ceremony we took some formal photos on the steps outside of the church, which really made a wonderful backdrop. The flower girls at this wedding were just darling and I probably took way too many photos of them, but I won’t include too many of them, because this is about the bride and groom after all.
Stephany and Aaron’s reception was held at Concord FiftyFive. I had never shot there before, but I fell in love as soon as I entered the space. There was a lot of natural light, which photographers love and a great outdoor space for cocktail hour. Stephany and Aaron didn’t want to make a big fuss over photos and wanted to just enjoy their day so we took about 15 minutes out of cocktail hour and walked around the surrounding area to take their formal photos. The area has a very industrial feel which is always fun to work with. There were these great big cinder block looking things right next door that we incorporated and some great natural elements intermixing as well.
